Countries + Food + Design = LOVE
Check out this article showing beautiful depictions of flags from around the world: made entirely out of food! And it’s not just any food… they actually created the flags based on food that each country is commonly associated with. Italy’s got the pasta, the UK has their scones, clotted cream and jam, and of course America is made out of hot dogs. This gorgeous collection of photographs come from an Australian advertising agency promoting the Sydney International Food Festival.
Are you just as obsessed as I am yet? What I love about these ads is that everybody can relate to them. You can find your country’s flag and laugh at your inside joke with the world (Haha, of course America has the baseball game food). It’s also cool how we are all able to figure the flags out based on our knowledge of shapes and colors associated with them. It’s such a creative way to advertise an international food festival. And it’s crazy how a lot of the foods just work with the flags perfectly. This just goes to show that you don’t always need photoshop to create the best designs! Design is all around us, especially in places we are not used to finding it.
Below are some of my favorites, but you can check them all out in the article (linked above).
And of course…
What are some creative ways you’ve seen food used in advertising and design?
